Kommer oor Ebola in SA

Hy is as voorkomingsmaatreël in afsondering geplaas.

Reports that a man is being treated for symptoms of Ebola at Potchefstroom Hospital are being denied by the Department of Health.

On Wednesday, OFM reported that a ward at the hospital was under quarantine because of a suspected Ebola patient.

Health department spokesperson Joe Maila has confirmed a 72-year-old man is being treated for a high fever but maintains his condition has nothing to do with the deadly virus.

“What we know is that a person came into the hospital with fever and this person has never been outside of South Africa,” said Maila.

“Therefore it is unlikely that you can look at the possibilities of Ebola. However, the doctors are doing all they know what to do to make sure that they diagnose what is the problem with the patient.”
