Honderde staatsamptenare is skuldig bevind aan korrupsie

DURBAN, 16 December 2015 - Major General Berning Ntlemeza, the head of the South African  police's elite Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations tells reporters that he has submitted a proposal that anyone convicted of being illegally in possession of a gun should be subjected to a minimum term of life imprisonment, which in South Africa is 25 years, before parole consideration. Ntlemeza was speaking at a press conference to launch the police's annual festive season crackdown. Byna 400 staatsamptenare is sedert 2014 skuldig bevind aan korrupsie. Die hoof van die polisie se Valke-eenheid, Berning Ntlemeza, het die onthulling gedoen voor ‘n parlementêre komitee. Hy sê altesaam tien miljard Rand is betrokke. Die meeste bedrog met tenders is ontdek in die departemente Openbare Werke, Gesondheid, Onderwys en Landelike Ontwikkeling. Ntlemeza sê ‘n verdere 600 amptenare staan tans tereg op aanklag van korrupsie.
